We checked nineteen wingers aged 21 or under in October, every one of them rated 75 or higher in EA FC 27, and asked a simple question of each: is he playing? Ten of the nineteen had made one league start this season, or none, by 16 October. Several of them cost their clubs £40m or more in the summer. So this list is ranked by the football, not the card: the young wide players who are actually starting, scoring and creating right now, with a deep cut at either end and a table of the expensive ones still waiting. (Figures as of 29 October 2026 unless dated otherwise.)

01

Lamine Yamal — Captain at Nineteen

FC Barcelona. Nineteen.

The obvious name is first because the numbers leave no room for anything else. Yamal has started all ten of Barcelona's league games this season, with eight goals and six assists, and on 9 September he became the youngest captain in the club's history when Raphinha handed him the armband against Feyenoord. That followed a 2025-26 in which Barcelona won the league and Spain won the World Cup.

Scout Gamer Read — EA FC 27: 90 (DRI 93, PAS 87). Real-level: ten league starts from ten, fourteen goal involvements. Tier: Generational.

02

The First Deep Cut — Jan Virgili

Club Brugge. Twenty.

Virgili came through Barcelona's academy, spent last season at Mallorca, and when Mallorca went down he left for Club Brugge in August for a fee Sporza put at about €12m, the second-highest Brugge have ever paid. Brugge sold him the move on their record of developing wingers and selling them on. He has started on the left since mid-September, including in the Champions League, where he set up a goal against Aston Villa.

The English-language lists have not reached the Belgian league yet. They will.

Scout Gamer Read — EA FC 27: 76 (PAC 86, DRI 79). Real-level: a Champions League starter at twenty, in his first season abroad. Tier: Ready Now.

03

Gianluca Prestianni — Benfica's Best Player in September

SL Benfica. Twenty.

Prestianni has started almost everything for Benfica this season: thirteen starts in sixteen games, ten goals and six assists in all competitions, and the Liga Portugal player of the month award for September. Last season he played mostly from the right; this season he starts on the left or drifts inside, and the move has made him the team's top creator. In early October he scored his first goal for Argentina.

Scout Gamer Read — EA FC 27: 75 (PAC 87, DRI 81) — a card from the season before this one. Real-level: sixteen goal involvements by 29 October. Tier: Elite-in-Waiting.

04

Antonio Nusa — The Finisher on the Left

RB Leipzig. Twenty-one.

Nusa has started every league and Champions League game for Leipzig, with three goals and five assists in the Bundesliga, and the league's own data had him as its most efficient finisher after five matchdays, with a top speed of 35.2 km/h. He opened the scoring for Norway in their World Cup round-of-32 win over Ivory Coast. Leipzig made it known in the summer that he was not untouchable, and he stayed.

Scout Gamer Read — EA FC 27: 78 (PAC 85, DRI 85). Real-level: an ever-present Bundesliga starter with eight goal involvements. Tier: Elite-in-Waiting.

05

Saïd El Mala — The €50m No Köln Gave

1. FC Köln. Twenty.

Köln turned down a bid from Borussia Dortmund reported at around €48m plus bonuses in the summer, extended El Mala's contract to 2031 and gave him the No. 10 shirt. On 11 October he curled in the winner against Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Rhine derby. He has started five of Köln's seven league games, is now a senior Germany international and is on the Golden Boy shortlist, and on 27 October he scored twice in the 5-0 DFB-Pokal win over Union Berlin. With Köln's strikers injured, he has led the line since the Gladbach derby rather than playing on the left.

Scout Gamer Read — EA FC 27: 78 (PAC 89, DRI 84). Real-level: a derby winner and a Germany cap at twenty. Tier: Elite-in-Waiting.

06

Rayan — Every League Start, and Now a League Goal

AFC Bournemouth. Twenty.

Bournemouth paid Vasco da Gama an initial £24.7m for Rayan in January, and he has started all eight of their Premier League games this season. The European goals came first, including the winner at Real Sociedad in the Europa League; the first league goal followed on 25 October, when he opened the scoring in a 3-0 win at Manchester United. At the World Cup he started three of Brazil's matches, through the round-of-16 defeat to Norway.

Scout Gamer Read — EA FC 27: 79 (PAC 85, DRI 80). Real-level: eight Premier League starts from eight, and the first league goal at Old Trafford. Tier: Ready Now.

07

Désiré Doué — The Second-Best Card, a Rotation Role

Paris Saint-Germain. Twenty-one.

Doué has the second-highest rating of any young winger in the game and does not have a guaranteed place in his own team. He has started five of PSG's eight league games and come off the bench in the other three, including at Strasbourg on 17 October, where he scored. Three days earlier, on 14 October, he scored in the 13th minute and set up Ousmane Dembélé two minutes later as PSG won 4-2 at Manchester City, their first win there.

Scout Gamer Read — EA FC 27: 86 (DRI 90, PAC 83). Real-level: a winger who decides big nights and still rotates on ordinary ones. Tier: Elite Now.

08

Yan Diomande — From the Bench to the Winner

Real Madrid. Nineteen.

Diomande started only three of his first eight league games after a move ESPN put at up to €135m with add-ons. The turn came on 10 October, when he scored the only goal against Villarreal, his first for Madrid, and four days later he started at Roma in the Champions League and made a goal. His eighteen-point rating jump features in our list of the biggest rating jumps in FC 27.

Scout Gamer Read — EA FC 27: 84 (PAC 93, DRI 87). Real-level: a first Madrid goal and a Champions League start inside a week. Tier: Elite-in-Waiting.

Out for Now

09

William Gomes — A €100m Clause and a Stretcher

FC Porto. Twenty.

Gomes scored thirteen goals in all competitions as Porto won the league last season, and he started each of Porto's first eight league games of this one. On 8 October Porto extended his contract to 2031 and raised his release clause to €100m. Two days later he was carried off at Marítimo with a grade-two ankle sprain, and he has not played since, missing the Champions League games against Real Betis and PSV and the league win at Gil Vicente. On 27 October Porto coach Francesco Farioli said he was back working on the pitch but that a return date was hard to give.

Scout Gamer Read — EA FC 27: 77 (PAC 84, DRI 79). Real-level: an eight-from-eight league starter until the ankle injury, whose club now prices him at €100m. Tier: Ready Now.

“A winger's rating is a promise about what happens when the ball reaches him. The minutes are whether anyone gives it to him.”

The Card Says Yes. The Bench Says Wait.

Six of the wingers we checked carry ratings that would put them in most lists like this one, and most of them moved for serious money in the summer. Only one of the six has started a Premier League game: Quenda, for the first time, against Tottenham on 24 October. This is the summer's winger market from the other side, the one we wrote about as the fees landed.

Young wingers rated 76 or higher in EA FC 27 who are still waiting for regular Premier League starts. League minutes as of 16 October 2026; starts re-checked on 29 October 2026.

Rio Ngumoha, who has his own scouting report, is rotating at Liverpool too, with one league start, and he is still eighteen.

10

The Second Deep Cut — Aymen Sliti

Excelsior, on loan from Feyenoord. Twenty.

Sliti spent last season on the edge of Feyenoord's squad, with one goal in 23 appearances, and in August Feyenoord loaned him to Excelsior for the season. He has started eight of their ten Eredivisie games from the right of a front three, cutting inside onto his left foot, and scored three times, one of them in a 2-2 draw at Ajax on 19 September. He won the European Under-19 Championship with the Netherlands in 2025 and is still eligible for Tunisia.

Scout Gamer Read — EA FC 27: 67 (PAC 87, DRI 71) — a pace card that has not caught up with the goals. Real-level: three Eredivisie goals in his first season of regular football. Tier: Raw Gem.

Quick Reference

Who is the best young winger in the world right now?

Lamine Yamal: ten league starts from ten, eight goals and six assists for Barcelona as of 29 October 2026, and the club's youngest captain.

Which young wingers are playing every week?

Yamal, Gianluca Prestianni, Antonio Nusa, Saïd El Mala and Rayan have all started at least four of their clubs' league games this season, as of 29 October 2026.

Why is Estêvão not playing for Chelsea?

As of 29 October 2026 he has yet to start a Premier League game. Pedro Neto, Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers and João Pedro have taken most of the attacking starts, and when João Pedro missed the game against Tottenham on 24 October, Xabi Alonso started Geovany Quenda instead. A torn hamstring in April also kept him out of the World Cup.

Who is Jan Virgili?

A Spanish winger, 20, signed by Club Brugge from Mallorca for about €12m in August 2026. He has started on the left in the Champions League.

The verdict. The rating tells you who the game thinks can play. The team sheet tells you who is being trusted to, and this autumn the two lists diverge more on the wing than anywhere else on the pitch. Yamal is the exception to everything. Behind him, the young wingers worth watching are the ones getting ninety minutes in Lisbon, Leipzig, Cologne, Bruges and Bournemouth, while several of the most expensive are learning the Premier League from the bench.
